Five Countries I Want To Visit

After graduating from Winona State, I would love to travel outside of the U.S.  I have always wanted to travel, and in high school I even considered being a foreign exchange student.  It was really hard to narrow it down to five countries, because I want to see so many, but here’s a list of my must see countries:

1.  Ireland

Ever since I’ve seen the film P.S. I Love You I’ve always wanted to go to Ireland. I would for sure want to visit the Guinness Brewery, see a lot of castles, and have a beer in a really authentic Irish pub!

2.  Spain

In Spain I would want to visit both Barcelona and Madrid. Both cities I’ve heard are just so full of life, warm, and the nightlife is suppose to be fun.

3. Czech Republic

My grandpa was born  in the Czech Republic, and I would love to see the country where my family is from!

4.  Austria

I’m really interested in seeing the countries where my family was from, and my great-grandma was Austrian. I also still have some relatives living there that I would love to meet!

5. Greece

I’ve seen so many pictures of Greece, and it looks like one of the most beautiful countries in the world! The water always looks so blue, and the beaches look stunning. I’m also really into Greek mythology, and I would love to see all of the Greek gods temples.

My Love/Hate Relationship with Nannying

For the past three summers I’ve been a nanny for a nine-year-old girl named Avery.  At the end of the summer Avery and I acted like were sisters we would bicker and fight, but at the end of the day we always got along.

Some days we would through on fashion shows, bake cookies, play Barbie’s, and my least favorite give Taylor (Me) an extreme makeover.  I wish I could show you guys a picture of one of her makeovers, but my phone is broken!

Avery is an only child, and lives in wealthy suburb of St. Paul, and at times she could be a little brat.  Her parents traveled a lot on business, and I think this is why she would act out.

What a diva!

One day a friend of Avery’s came over to house and I was making the girls lunch in the kitchen.  The girls started talking about places they like to shop, and brands they like (which is crazy, cause I think the only stores I would talk about were like The Limited Too and Old Navy).

Then Avery said to her friend and me, “Don’t you just hate it when people wear fake UGG boots, it’s like so tacky.” She would say these kind of snotty remarks about Target clothes, and shopping at places like Kohls or Jcpenny. These types of comments would drive me nuts, because I shop at those places and I’ve never owned real UGG boots!

Every time she would say something like that I would have to remind her how some people (including myself) cannot afford to shop at places like J.Crew, and that’s why they shop at Target.

But more about the good! Avery is the smartest little girl I know, and some days we would just talk about random stuff for hours and I felt like I was talking to someone much older.  We joked about boys, and we both love ice cream, so every week I would take her to a new ice cream spot.

Although Nanning has its struggles, I would do this summer all over again!

Fifty Shades of Grey Casting Choices

fifty shades

After months and months of waiting the Fifty Shades of Grey casting choices have finally been announced! In case you didn’t hear Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) will be playing Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson (The Social Network) will be playing Anastasia Steele. I’m a huge fan of Sons of Anarchy, and Hunnam does such a good job at playing a bad boy biker, it will be interesting to see him play such a different role. As for Dakota Johnson I don’t really know a lot about this actress, but all of the pictures I’ve seen of her she’s been blond. After Johnson dyes her hair brown to match Anastasia, I think Johnson will fit the role well. Some fans are extremely upset over the casting choices, and have began to petition for Matthew Bomer (White Collar) and Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) to play the main roles. The petition already has 23,666 signatures. I do agree with the fans that Alexis Bledel seems like a better choice, but this may be because her role on Gilmore Girls was like the younger version of Anastasia Steele. Overall, a lot goes into choosing the cast not just looks, and I’m excited to see how well Johnson and Hunnam do with these roles!
